Welcome to the website of the New York City & Vicinity Latino Carpenters of America aka UBC Latino Club. We hope that it will serve our members, new members and visitors as a good source of information about our club. We hope to increase our events and activities in 2017 and extend a helping hand to all that seek one. We wish to contribute and assist in building up our Union and Organized Labor Movement. We wish to also reach out to the communities as Union Carpenters in the New York Metropolitan area. Carpenters in New York are underrepresented and are being exploited by non-union contractors. It is common knowledge that some non-union contractors tell their employees that the UBC is an organization that does not have Latino Carpenters and will not welcome them. This of course is a damaging distortion of words and deeds. We encourage all unorganized carpenters to consider joining the United Brotherhood of Carpenters when given the opportunity. Brothers, Sister and visitors come one come all, The New York City & Vicinity Latino Carpenters of America welcomes you!
The Latino Club has been involved in parades such as the National Puerto Rican Day and Labor Day Parades in Manhattan, Three Kings Day, Caribbean Day and Columbus Day Parades in Brooklyn and the Queens Hispanic Day Parade. The Carpenters Latino Club, as in the past, present and in the future will be promoting the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Labor Movement. Our Club events have been the TD Five Boro Bike Tour for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Children’s Cancer Unit, Valentine Dinner Dance, Atlantic City Trip, Staten Island Yankees Family Night Out, 4-Hour Dinner Boat Cruise, Annual Billiards Tournament, Thanksgiving Raffle and Toys for Tots Drive and more soon to come events.
Our community service events include the donation of time and labor by our Brothers and Sisters at the Davidson Community Center in the Bronx, the Juan Aponte Gym, the Tatiana Community Center for the kids, the Music With a Message Youth Band Renaissance, The International Christian Center in Staten Island and the Teen Challenge/ Wilkerson Hall Project. We are currently working with the Habitat for Humanity for upcoming volunteer projects.
We want to thank all our members who have participated in the past events. Also like to thank our sponsors for their generous donations and support to all our charities. We ask our members to bring new ideas and events to the Latino Club and also join us in participating in our many events to help our club grow. Our goal is to secure our bond and create new friendships. We extend our hand to any charitable organization that are in need of labor to please contact us email@example.com
From the Executive Board of New York City & Vicinity Latino Carpenters of America, we thank you.
